ONE of Oxford’s oldest pubs is looking smart after being given a fresh lick of paint.
The Grapes in George Street was painted bright green but now it has been painted blue.
The new colour scheme is part of a refurbishment being carried out by
West Berkshire Brewery, which has bought the lease from The City Pub Company.
The pub is currently closed.

Changes to the interior are not expected to be too radical as the pub’s vintage look was restored in 2017.

The pub, popular with theatre goers, dates back to the 1820s, and West Berkshire Brewery has promised a ‘sympathetic refurb’.
