THREE kebab vans across Oxfordshire are in the running to be crowned 'best in the country' tonight.
The British Kebab Awards returns for its seventh year this evening and staff from various Oxfordshire eateries will be joining in the celebrations.
Hassan's Street Kitchen in Broad Street, Atalay's Kebab Van in Thame, and Ahmed's Bar B-Q Kebab Van in High Street were all shortlisted for 'Kebab Van of the Year'.

Family businesses Atalay's Kebab Van based on Thame High Street has won the coveted crown for the category at the annual ceremony twice.
Elsewhere in the competition Antep Kitchen Oxford on Cowley Road is bidding for this year's ‘best newcomer restaurant’ title.
The annual awards are voted for by the public before narrowed down to a shortlist of entries.
Despite being shortlisted for this year's awards Hassan's Street Kitchen in Broad Street, and Atalay's Kebab Van in Thame withdrew themselves from the competition. Staff at Hassan's said it was due to the awards promoting alcohol which goes against their religious beliefs.
Previously Cowley Road’s Bodrum Kebab shop was also shortlisted for the awards in the 'best takeaway' category, but its two-star hygiene rating saw it kicked out the competition.

The final winners of the awards will be announced at a special ceremony held in London tonight.
