A MAN charged with attempted murder after a woman was stabbed outside a Co-op in Headington appeared in court this morning.
Wearing a grey sweatshirt and grey jogging bottoms, bearded Jordan Anderson spoke only to confirm his name, address and date of birth.
The 30-year-old is charged with one count of attempted murder, one count of stalking and invoking a fear of violence, and one count of possessing an offensive weapon - namely a kitchen knife - in a public place.
It comes after a woman in her 20s was stabbed outside the London Road supermarket on Tuesday afternoon.
Because the crimes are so serious Anderson's lawyer did not even ask the court for him to be allowed out on bail.
Anderson did not enter a plea.
Magistrates told him: "These are very serious offences and can only be dealt with by the Crown Court."
Anderson, of no fixed abode, was remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Crown Court tomorrow.
Thames Valley Police said the victim remains in the John Radcliffe Hospital with 'serious' injuries.
