THERE are plans to bring a flying trapeze school to Florence Park next month.

James Long submitted the application to Oxford City Council last month as part of High Fly Trapeze 2019.

It states the temporary structure is planned for the park's unused bowling green for 20 weeks from April 23.

The application form states: "The rig consists of 4x5mm steel arches 10m high and 3.8m wide.

"The four arches are secured using stakes that are hammered into the ground connected by a cable comea-long."

It adds the business will employee three full-time and three part-time staff and be open between 9am and 9pm seven days a week.

An anonymous resident, however, has raised concerns about the flying trapeze school's potential impact on local traffic, crime as well as criticising a lack of detail about the types of lessons, the age of those who will be taught and safety measures at the site.

In a comment on the application they added: "I wish to strongly object to erection of a flying trapeze in this location."
