A DESCRIPTION of a killer dog and its owner has been released after a sheep was mauled to death.

The ewe, which was expecting twins, was fatally attacked in a private fenced field close to Days Lock, River Thames near Little Wittenham and Dorchester-on-Thames.

It happened about 4.30pm on Saturday, March 2.

Thames Valley Police today said the dog, believed to be called Willow, was seen off the lead and chasing sheep in the private field. It bit one sheep several times causing significant injuries to its leg and neck.

The force said one sheep was found dead with two unborn lambs, and another needed veterinary attention for its injuries.

It added that witnesses report there was no urgency from the dog's owner to stop it.

The dog is described as possibly a bulldog breed with brown fur, and witnesses heard the name Willow being called.

The force said the owner was a man aged between 50-60 years old, about 5ft 6 – 5ft 8, proportionate build with grey/white hair which was collar length.

He had facial hair the same colour as his hair and was wearing glasses with thick rims and round lenses. He was wearing a green jumper and grey trousers.
