OUTDOOR markets have long lined the city's streets, from the traders in Gloucester Green to the (now demolished) cattle market in Oxpens.
These photos, one of which dates back to 1895, show how the Oxford market scene has changed through the decades.

One image shows a food trader smoking while handing out fresh produce, while another depicts a lone farmer during a cattle market strike.
Cattle were sold in Gloucester Green until 1932, when the market moved to Oxpens, and held its last day of trading on March 21, 1979.
