DETAILS of plans to solve the long-running parking problems at the John Radcliffe Hospital may now not be known until the summer.
In January, Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) said it was looking at a range of ‘internal and external measures’ to ease pressure on parking at the hospital with patients and visitors lodging dozens of formal complaints with the trust over the last year.
OUH had also previously revealed that the traffic situation at the hospital had led to some families being placed in ‘considerable distress'.
And this week hospital chiefs had been expected to update board members on work being done to tackle the issue, however, it is understood the parking report has now been pushed back until May.

The lack of parking has affected both visitors and staff with many complaining about the lack of spaces and almost daily gridlock in the grounds of the Headington hospital.
Health chiefs had admitted their hands were somewhat tied over the issue with planning guidelines preventing the number of spaces being increased at the site, and so the trust have had to come up with alternative plans to resolve the issue.
Oxford City Council is currently refusing to allow further parking provisions at the JR arguing that more spaces will only make congestion worse.
Yesterday the trust said it currently did not have anything further to add when asked by the Oxford Mail for an update, but continued to urge those who are able to use public transport and 'leave the parking for those who do really need it'.
