A MAN was threatened with knives and had his wallet and phone stolen while cycling along a bicycle path in Oxford. 

The 47-year-old was travelling home on the Marston cycle path near Ferry Road on Saturday at around 9.20pm. 

He was approached by three men who threatened him with knives and told him to give them money.

He was pushed off his bike and kicked and punched and his wallet, phone and bracelet were stolen.

The victim sustained injuries to his head but did not require hospital treatment.

Police are trying to trace the group and have released descriptions of the three men. 

The first is a white man, aged between 16 and 20-years-old, around 5ft tall and slim. He was wearing a grey scarf that covered his face and a black hooded top.

The second is described as an Asian man, aged between 16 and 20-years-old, around 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hooded top and black trainers.

The third is described as a black man, aged between 16 and 20-years-old, around 5ft 4ins tall and of medium build. He was wearing a black hooded top and black trousers.

All were on bicycles.

Investigating officer, PC Rebecca Nightingale, based at Oxford police station said: “This was a frightening ordeal for the victim, who was threatened with knives.

“I am appealing to anybody who believes that they witnessed this robbery to contact police.

“Any information would be helpful in progressing our investigation.”
