A MURDER investigation has been launched after the victim of a stabbing in Oxford died in hospital.
Thames Valley Police said the man attacked in Southfield Road, East Oxford, last week has died this evening.

The victim, who was aged 22 and from Southampton, was struck by a vehicle and stabbed several times last Wednesday and taken to the John Radcliffe.

Despite efforts to save the man’s life, he has sadly since died of his injuries, police said.
His family have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.
Detective Chief Inspector Stuart Blaik, of the Major Crime Unit said: “We believe the incident started at approximately 2320hrs in Ridgefield Road before moving into Southfield Road and involved a number of people.
“Sadly, the injuries sustained by the victim have proved fatal, and a murder investigation has been launched.

“I am continuing to appeal for any witnesses who may have seen what happened, or have any information about this incident to contact us.
“I am particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have mobile phone, CCTV or dash-cam footage to get in touch.
