AN Oxford adventurer was the only British woman to complete a 150km endurance race in Lapland late last month.
Kennington's Leila Javadi-Babreh completed the mammoth course in 41 hours and 8 minutes.
She also mentored one of the oldest racers, Dave McGee, and the pair were the last to make the time limit, coming 46th and 47th on February 25.
But Mr Mcgee, 57, outdid 14 non-finishers and 10 non starters at the Rovaniemi 150 ultramarathon.
Ms Javadi-Babreh, who has spent more than six winters dog-sled racing in Alaska, explained: "We had 42 hrs to complete it - I let him sit down for 20 minutes.
His wife had said he can only do it if I go with him. I think at the time he was regretting it but (he is) now super happy."
She added that the pair were given medals made from wood from the Sami sacred lake, with 'names carved into them by the Sami Princess'.
The winner came home in 11 hours 56 minutes, with the help of a 'fatbike'. The fastest on foot recorded a time of 23 hours 15 minutes.
