A PLAN for a new 85-bedroom nursing home in Didcot has been submitted.
Merbuild Developments Limited wants permission to build the new three-storey home, which would be run by Advinia Health Care.
The house would cater for a variety of patients, including those with dementia.

It would be build off Didcot Road, between Didcot and Harwell, about a mile-and-a-half from the town centre.

Facilities would be ‘high quality’ and would include en-suite bedrooms with a range of ‘excellent quality communal and amenity spaces’.
They would include a cafe, activity rooms, cinema, hairdresser, lounges, dining areas and quiet rooms.

Official documents also state the home would provide fast-track end-of-life placement.
It would be managed for 24-hours-a-day with secure entrances and exits.
A private garden would be ‘securely enclosed’ by fences and railings.
Developers say they think their designs would ‘provide an attractive and sensitive redevelopment of the site’.
They want there to be 30 parking spaces provided.

An ambulance bay and another delivery bay are also included in the parking layout. Another 10 cycle spaces would also be built.
Vale of White Horse District Council published the documents on its website on Thursday. It said it wants a decision to be made on whether the home might be built by the end of May.
Advinia Health Care does not have other homes in Oxfordshire.
