AS the UK swelters in the hottest winter week ever recorded, we thought we would remind our readers just what Oxford looked like exactly a year ago.
On March 2, 2018, the dreaded Beast from the East weather front blanketed our county in snow, closing schools and piling roads with treacherous snow drifts.

The Beast first arrived in Oxfordshire on February 26 with a light flurry of snow.
A few days later on March 2 the city was covered in the white stuff, and the coldest March temperature for Oxford since 1965 had been recorded.
Schools across the county were closed and roads were shut causing widespread disruption.

This year, we started February with another almighty snowfall (see here) and ended it with the two hottest February days ever recorded in the UK.
It's certainly enough to give climate change deniers a challenge.
