DRIVERS on the A34 are more used to sitting in traffic than hitting speeds above 70mph, but those who break the limit are more likely to be caught in some places than others.
Thames Valley Police caught 3,331 speeding drivers last year, compared to 4,037 the year before, with the drop partly explained by a fall in officer numbers.
The force has revealed the four speeding hotspots it is prioritising as officers target areas of 'significant concern' in Oxfordshire.
They are:
- Wytham
- Radley
- Kennington
- Abingdon North
These all fall within a relatively small section of the road, but chief inspector of Thames Valley Roads Policing, James Upton, has stressed police are out patrolling the entire stretch 'every single day'.
