A BROKEN down vehicles caused miles of delays on the A34 this morning.
One lane was closed and traffic queued for around three miles due to recovery work on the Southbound carriageway, from A4130 (Milton Interchange) to J13 (M4 Chieveley/Newbury).
The broken down vehicle is reported to have been a heavy goods vehicle.
Lane one (of two) was closed whilst recovery got underway.
According to the Oxford Mail traffic feed, traffic returned to normal just before 9am.

Meanwhile, all lanes on the M40 have also reopened following an accident on the southbound carriageway.
A lorry and car were moved to the hard shoulder between J10 A43 (Brackley/Cherwell Valley Services) and J9 A34 (Bicester).
Lane one (of three) was briefly closed at around 7.30am for 10 minutes following the incident.
