A HOUSE which sits on the same street as social housing block Farndon Court has created quite a buzz after featuring in The Sunday Times' pick of the hottest UK properties.
Summertown Villa on Woodstock Road was listed for a cool £10million before it was taken down from the website of letting agents Knight Frank.
However, buyers can still get their mitts on the Grade II-listed mansion as it has not actually been sold – the agents are simply sprucing up the listing after the newspaper dubbed it one of the finest properties up for sale in the country.
Other dreamy homes up for sale in the county
Screened by the high boundary brick walls, white pillars and big wooden fences, the 1830s six bedroom house is hidden within two park-like gardens and in walking distance of the city centre and the Dragon prep school, which is next door.
What can you get for a million in Oxford? Here's a few - and some 'cheaper' ones too
There are other old homes in the area, but most have been divided up into flats for students or town houses for families.
According to Right Move, a search website for properties, the average house price for Woodstock Road and the OX2 postcode is £878,488.
Pictures of the interior show lavish interiors and the period features which are dotted around including the marble fireplaces, the spiralled staircase similar to some seen on Downtown Abbey, the sweeping pathway the front door which is lined with rich flowerbeds and romantic archways.
