PUZZLERS must avoid the evil clutches of the Queen of Hearts and try not to lose their heads in the new Alice-themed escape room coming to Oxford.
Escape Hunt Oxford, based in the Westgate Centre, is just days away from opening the new 'Alice in Puzzleland' - a nod to the city's influence on the Lewis Carroll classic.
The children's novel Alice’s Adventures In Wonderland was inspired by Carroll's experiences in Oxford and will now inspire the latest pastime trend sweeping the country.

It is believed Oxford is the only site for Escape Hunt to open an Alice-themed challenge.
It goes alongside four other escape rooms at the Westgate site which challenges people to solves puzzles and riddles against the clock to escape the room within 60 minutes.
The description for Alice in Puzzleland says: "Step into Wonderland, where the Hatter has been accused of stealing the Queen’s Tarts. With Alice nowhere to be seen, it’s time for you to fill her shoes.
"You find yourself at the Hatter’s cottage. The table is set but no one is around.
"A sign on the lawn reads ‘Tea Party Cancelled by Royal Decree’. Curiouser and curiouser…
"Find and return the Queen’s Tarts in 60 minutes, or it’s off with the Hatter’s head. Chop chop."
The theme follows on from the 'contemporary' Alice concept used throughout the Westgate since it opened in 2017 - including the TV adverts in which Alice can be seen roaming among the city's famous landmarks, punting and opening the Radcliffe Camera.
Various artwork scattered throughout the Westgate also gives a nod to the tale.
The Alice room is expected to open to the public on Friday and comes just a couple of weeks after Escape Hunt Oxford opened its Doctor Who themed room.
