SHOPPERS were forced to evacuate Next in Didcot earlier today while fighfighters rescued a pigeon trapped in netting above the store's entrance.
Pictures shared with the Oxford Mail show firefighters and security guards had put up a cordon around the Orchard Centre shop at around midday, with a ladder then used to reach the caught bird.

A resident said: "There must have been six firefighters and a couple of security guards. They cordoned off the whole area around Next so they could get it down.
"It was sad to see the bird trapped but it was a big reaction for one pigeon at a time when we are told budgets are squeezed and taxpayers are being asked for more and more money to fund services."

Another shopper, sharing the incident on social media, said she believed at least three birds had become trapped in 'anti-pigeon netting' above the clothes store.
