OXFORD'S very own 'hedgehog man' has come up with an ingenious plan to protect the threatened species, and is urging others to follow suit.
Hugh Warwick, who launched 'HedgeOX' last year, drilled a hedgehog-sized hole in the wall of a garden belonging to Suzanne and Donald Dalton in Moreton Road, Summertown.
He is hoping others in the area will consider installing their own to help the population thrive.

Hedgehog numbers nationwide have plummeted, with urban populations down 30 per cent and rural populations down by half since the turn of the century.
