RESIDENTS can have their say on plans for a key area of Chipping Norton tomorrow.
A consultation is now running on proposals for 1,200 homes, a new primary school and business land on the East Chipping Norton Strategic Development Area.
This comprises of land north and south of London Road, to the east of the town.
The first of two public exhibitions takes place at Glyme Hall from 2pm to 8pm, with district council officers in attendance.
An initial 'issues' consultation paper has been produced, which will discuss the key priorities for the site's Supplementary Planning Document (SPD), which ensures the development proceeds correctly.
All responses received during the consultation period will be taken into account by the council in preparing the draft SPD for further consultation this summer.
Jeff Haine, cabinet member for strategic housing and development, said: “These proposals are extremely important for the future development of the town and we really want residents to express their views and influence the decisions that have to be made.
“I would encourage as many people as possible to participate in the consultation.”
The second consultation takes place from 2pm to 8pm at Chipping Norton Town Hall on Monday, February 25.
