POLICE have revealed they are still receiving a 'high number' of reports of elderly residents in West Oxfordshire being targeted by phone scammers.

Last month officers warned fraudsters had been calling pretending to be from a bank or the police to trick victims into handing over their bank cards details or cash to a courier.
There have been dozens of reports of variations of the con across the county since last year.

Police urged people to check on elderly or vulnerable relatives and neighbours to make sure they were aware of the scam.
