A TRUST in charge of two Didcot secondary schools is set to take over a village primary.
Sutton Courtenay CE Primary School is due to convert to an academy and join the Ridgeway Education Trust, which already oversees Didcot Girls' School and St Birinus School.
This will mean the trust will run the school instead of Oxfordshire County Council, and the three schools can share best practice and resources.

A newsletter published on the school's website on Wednesday said: "The legal process for us to become part of Ridgeway Education Trust is proceeding smoothly and we are on track to convert on 1st April.
"Meanwhile, the children are already benefitting in all three schools.
"The secondary school teachers are now much more aware of the primary curriculum and will be able to ensure smooth transitions to Year 7.
"Our children have benefitted from specialist teachers in drama, music, maths, English and Mandarin Chinese."

The trust was created in 2012 and this will be its first significant expansion since St Birinus joined in 2015.
Sutton Courtenay consulted parents in May and June about plans to join the trust.
