DRIVERS endured icy and treacherous conditions on the way into work this morning after freezing temperatures overnight.
The Met Office had issued a yellow weather warning for ice covering the whole of the county until 11am.
Rural roads were particularly affected but commuters were also warned to watch out on motorways and A roads.
Traffic was slow on many of the major routes into the city.
By lunchtime, the ice had cleared and all the roads appeared to be operating normally again.
It came after the first significant snowfall of the winter yesterday which temporarily blanketed much of Oxfordshire.
Further snow fell overnight but did not pose a significant problem for the roads.
There is a slight chance more will follow today but the Met Office is predicting a mostly clear day with sunny spells before ice cold temperatures tonight.
It could be as cold as -2C by 11pm.

With the risk of snow subsiding it is ice that is causing problems with all emergency services warning people to look out.
