SINGER and rapper Lauryn Hill will play live at Blenheim Palace this summer, joining Kylie Minogue on the bill for Nocturne Live.
The soul, r&b and hip-hop star, a former member of the Fugees, was one of the biggest stars of the '90s having hits with Ready or Not, Fu-Gee-La and a reworking of the Roberta Flack classic Killing Me Softly.
She will play the palace's Great Court on Friday June 21. Lauryn will be joined on the night by UK soul star Laura Mvula and BBC Sound of 2019 and Brits critics’ choice nominee Mahalia.
Lauryn will perform a career-spanning greatest hits set featuring tracks from her multi Grammy award-winning solo album The Miseducation Of Lauryn Hill, alongside classic Fugees songs and new material.
Her solo album sold 20 million copies. Tracks such as Doo Wop (That Thing), Ex-Factor and Everything Is Everything helped catapult her to global superstardom and cemented her position as one of the most pioneering acts of her generation.
The New Jersey-born singer joins previously announced artists Kylie Minogue, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Tears For Fears, White Lies and Scritti Politti on the bill at what promises to be the coolest Nocturne Live yet.
More acts are expected to be announced in coming weeks.
Nocturne Live director Ciro Romano said: “Lauryn Hill is someone who’s always featured at the top of our wish list.
