A PRIMARY school received a £1,000 donation from a housebuilder to purchase new playground equipment for its students.
St Peter’s C of E Primary School, Cassington, was given the cash after applying to become one of Persimmon Homes Wessex's community champions.
The school, near Witney, has been fundraising to purchase replacement climbing equipment and was chosen to benefit from the builder's monthly match-funded donation.

Sophia Vernon, a parent who has championed this project, said: “Unfortunately our old playground climbing equipment has succumbed to the elements after 15 years use.
"We’ve worked ridiculously hard to raise the funds– you name it, we’ve done it.
"It’s great to see a large company such as Persimmon backing a local school."
Persimmon Homes Wessex currently has developments across Oxfordshire, including its Windrush Place development, located off Curbridge Road, Witney.
