POLICE have shared footage of a reckless driver taking both hands off the wheel to use his phone on the motorway.
The video, posted on Twitter earlier today by Thames Valley Police, shows the motorist using the device in the middle lane of the M4, with a reminder that it 'could've potentially cost lives'.
They were stopped by a roads policing officer, who was driving an unmarked car and caught the 'reckless behaviour' on camera.
In the video, the offender is seen holding the phone in front of their steering wheel, while driving with the other hand.
They then take both hands off the wheel to scroll through the device.
After being stopped, the motorist claimed 'they were only trying to turn their phone off' and 'declined' to watch back the footage, police say.
