A 60-year-old man from Blackbird Leys arrested on suspicion of talking explicitly to adults pretending to be children online has been released under investigation.
An online group carried out a paedophile sting and claim to have caught a man trying to meet underage children at hotel rooms after grooming them through the web.
The man was arrested by police on Sunday night.
The group recorded the snare on their phones and have posted the 45 minute video on their Facebook page.
Before tipping off the police, members of the group - who are based in the north - pretended to be an 11-year-old to lure the man into starting a chat with them.
In the video, one of the men out to 'expose' the man said: “We’re not going to hurt you, nobody’s here to hurt you.
"We just want to expose you and get you arrested which is going to happen, the police are going to be here within the next five or ten minutes.”
"If you do decide that you want to delete anything off your devices, I will say that the police are going to be taking all your electronic devices and it can be restored, they will find what’s on your phone."
A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: “A 60-year-old man from Oxford was arrested on suspicion of attempting to meet a girl following grooming. He has been released under investigation.”
