MICROPUB co-owner Luciana Gyuricza is adding locally-brewed beer to the festive offering at the Covered Market.
The Teardrop Micropub is the creation of the owners of Church Hanbrewery, a family-owned handcraft nano-brewery in West Oxfordshire.
Christian Gyuricza and wife Luciana, both 43, have started serving beer from the former Haymans fishmongers unit in the market.
She said: “The beer is selling well in the run-up to Christmas – we are having to brew more to keep up with the demand.”
Mr Gyuricza said earlier: “We are serving beer directly from the cask – it’s a very good way to stay in touch with our consumers.
“As well as serving beer to customers in the market we are also selling bottles of beer and draught beer.”
Graham MacDonald, a member of the Covered Market Tenants’ Association, said: “The new micropub has helped to boost camaraderie among market traders.”
Father-of-three Mr Gyuricza is originally from Brazil.
He added: “It’s called the Teardrop bar because a year ago we started operating a mobile bar out of a teardrop caravan.
“Our opening hours reflect the market opening hours but we might need to apply for a licence extension when there are late opening hours.
“It’s a good time for us to open in the run-up to Christmas.”
The couple's brewery has been trading since February 2016 and normally sells about 2,000 litres of beer a month.
It was originally set up in Church Hanborough but has since relocated to New Yatt, about four miles away.
Tony Goulding, a member of the Oxford branch of real ale enthusiasts CAMRA (The Campaign for Real Ale), said he was delighted the micropub had opened.
