MAGDALEN College will continue its annual tradition of offering free entry to visitors this New Year's Day.
The college on High Street will be open to the public from 11am to 3pm.
As well as its buildings, Magdalen is known for its expansive grounds which include gardens and a deer park.
The deer park is an enclosed nature reserve but visitors can walk up to the fence and admire the animals as they wander around.
The estate also includes a mile-long, riverside, circular path called Addison’s Walk.
Addison’s Walk is named after the writer Joseph Addison and was popular with C.S. Lewis when he taught at Magdalen; he could often be found walking along the River Cherwell with his fellow Inklings.
It was during his time at Magdalen that Lewis wrote The Chronicles of Narnia.
The Oxford Society of Change Ringers will be ringing in the New Year at Magdalen College from 11.30pm on New Year’s Eve.
The college will not be open to the public at that time.
