A LIBRARY that was closed due to structural problems has completed its move across town.
Woodstock Library has temporarily relocated to The Oxfordshire Museum on Park Street while the existing building, on Hensington Road, remains cordoned off.
The temporary library will be located in what was the museum’s Innovations Gallery after the move, which concluded on Friday.
A full library service will be available in the museum, including books, public access internet, activities, printing and photocopying.
It will be open five days a week, with accessible and self-service facilities available during museum opening hours.
The county council said it remained committed to finding a permanent home for the Woodstock Library and would continue to engage with residents over the coming months.
The building on Hensington Road shut in October, after a routine inspection uncovered structural problems with some of the walls at the library and in particular around the stability of one internal wall.
There is currently no set date for a reopening but the council said it will make clear when a date is set.
Since then, the museum’s book dropbox and branches in Witney, Charlbury, Eynsham and Kidlington have been used by Woodstock residents.
The county council is responsible for a network of more than 40 libraries across Oxfordshire.
It also operates a Home Library Service and an online book service.
Opening hours for the new building can be found at oxfordshire.gov.uk
