Man in thirties dies on Hythe Bridge Street, Oxford

Thames Valley Police was called to Hythe Bridge Street on Thursday afternoon, where the individual is thought to have died, with officers stationed between The Bridge nightclub and The Oxford Foundry into the evening.

His death was 'non-suspicious' and occurred just four days after a man died in a McDonald's restaurant on Cornmarket Street, in another 'unexplained' death.

Police first received reports of the incident at around 12.45pm on Thursday, although it is unknown who found the man.

Officers arrived at the scene just after 3pm and set up a cordon, with an eyewitness seeing one police car and a police guard.

The last officers left just before 9pm.

Police confirmed a report has been sent to the coroner.

On Sunday evening, the Cornmarket branch of McDonald's was temporarily closed following the death of the currently unidentified male.

The busy city centre restaurant was put on lockdown following the incident as police and paramedics raced to the scene.

Despite paramedics’ attempts to revive him, the man was pronounced dead at the scene at around 6pm.

Police said on Monday that his death was being treated as 'unexplained but not suspicious’. McDonald's confirmed it is offering support to its staff in Oxford.
