Oxford’s Macdonald Randolph Hotel, has launched a new fine dining experience at its Acanthus restaurant.
The six-course tasting menu has been created specifically for the hotel by internationally renowned chef Ram Jalasutram.
Ram Jalasutram, previously of the Dorchester and the prestigious Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland is delighted with his ‘Chef’s Table’ menu, created specifically for the hotel.
Carefully curated to showcase the best of British cuisine, from Scottish salmon served with cured & poached goat cheese fritter and candy roots; corn-fed chicken with truffle scented baby breast pave, bunny carrot, baby gem and grapefruit glaze; and Southdown rack of lamb served with puff crust, black pudding, smoked wild mushroom and mint dressing. To finish, guests can enjoy chocolate with valrhona textures, and pistachio powder.
Served in the private area of the Acanthus restaurant, The Chef’s Table offers diners the opportunity to watch as chefs prepare their food.

As if that wasn’t enough, renowned chef Tom Kitchin is hosting a supper club at Daylesford, near Kingham, on Sunday December 9.
Tom Kitchin’s philosophy in the kitchen is based on an appreciation of the finest, freshest produce in season, sourced locally and prepared simply.
He became the youngest Scottish chef to win a Michelin star thanks to his unique style, influenced by his Scottish heritage and top-level training with some of the world’s most renowned chefs.
Tom Kitchin will cook the three course meal from 7-10pm, and every guest will receive a copy of Tom’s new book Fish & Shellfish as part of their ticket price of £150 per person. daylesford.com/events.
