A MAN suffered racial abuse in a car park near Port Meadow.
Thames Valley Police said the incident happened on Monday at about 3pm in the car park in Godstow Road, Wolvercote.
The victim, a 44-year-old man, was approached by a man who proceeded to shout racial abuse at him, before pushing him to the floor and spitting on him.
The victim was shaken did not receive any injuries.
The offender is described as a white man, in his late fifties, between 5ft 11ins to 6ft tall and of medium build. He had short, dark grey hair and was missing a few front teeth.
He was wearing a brown jacket with sewn elbow pads, a baggy green sleeveless jacket, brown trousers and walking boots.
He was carrying a brown and grey bag with Nike branding on the back written horizontally.
He was also wearing distinctive square-shaped sunglasses with orange tinted lenses and black frames.
Investigating officer PC Jake Freeman, based at St Aldates police station, said: “We are appealing for anyone who may have been in the area at the time and saw the incident.
“Anyone with information can get in touch through the non-emergency number 101.

“Alternatively, you can contact Crimestoppers on an anonymous basis on 0800 555111.”
