A SUDDEN downpour in Oxford appeared to cause a leak in a glass section of roof at the Westgate Centre.
The heavy rainfall happened shortly before lunchtime yesterday and prompted staff at the centre to place a bucket in the walkway approaching Sainsbury’s supermarket.
A sign urged shoppers to take care as they passed the leak.
It is not known if any of the individual shop units at the centre suffered any leaks in the same way.
Westgate Oxford has not yet said if any stores were affected.
The centre has just celebrated its first birthday after opening with great fanfare following its £440m build.
