PLANS for the Bodleian Library's controversial £29m book depository in Osney Mead are on display to the public today.

The library owns nine million volumes and is desperate for new storage space because it acquires 5,000 new books a week.

The scheme to store books in a new building alongside the River Thames is due to be considered by city councillors on Wednesday.

The plans are on show at the Bodleian in Broad Street.
