A TEENAGE boy was saved by a crew of firefighters after getting stuck up a tree.
The 14-year-old was rescued at Abbey Meadows park in Abingdon yesterday evening, after clambering 20ft up the trunk and realising he was unable to safely scramble back down.
In a Facebook post this morning, Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service described the boy as an 'intrepid climber'.
The post added: "Using the largest ladder on the fire appliance, [firefighters] were able to assist the youngster down to safety, who was none the worse for his short stay in the tree."
An image shared by the fire service showed firefighters craning their necks up at the branches, holding a ladder steady.
