WALLINGFORD’S Illusion Fireworks Ltd have won yet another prestigious national competition.
The company, who were named British Fireworks Champions 2018 in August, have now won the British Musical Fireworks Championships 2018 in Southport.
Illusion were also awarded the inaugural Innovation Award at the Merseyside event, where organisers described their display as 'incredible'.
Director Karl Mitchell-Shead paid tribute to his team and hailed an 'unimaginable' double, after taking their second title in two months.
He said: "It has been an incredible year for the whole team, two national competitions in one year is a serious undertaking for a company relatively new to the fireworks industry.
"To go ahead and win them both outright after the months and months of planning and preparation is the stuff of dreams.
"I am very lucky to have a very supportive family and easily the most dedicated ‘extended’ family of passionate pyrotechnicians in the industry working for Illusion."
The company achieved one of the highest scores in competition history for its winning display the British Fireworks Championships in Plymouth.

Mr Mitchell-Shead said the company was the first to win both competitions in the same year for almost two decades.
He continued: "Everybody's comments have been simply overwhelming - it’s a great feeling when others can see the passion that goes into our shows and how our innovation and quality fireworks set us apart."
Illusion are now planning their 'busiest display season ever', with shows scheduled in Grove, Wallingford and Didcot in November.
It will also be putting on a show at the Abingdon Festival of Fireworks - dubbed the 'largest display in the south' - at Dalton Barracks; while they have also opened a new shop called Xplosive Fireworks, near Culham Railway Station.
