POLICE in South Oxfordshire have been engaged in a fierce battle with suspected hare coursers.
Officers have released some details about two incidents last month - one of which saw hare coursers drive at PCSOs in South Stoke on July 28. One dog was seized.
The following day a Honda 4x4 was reported to be driving erratically around Nettlebed and suspected of hare coursing.
It crashed and officers seized the vehicle.
Two further incidents occurred earlier this month, one involving an assault on a farmer in Lewknor on August 9.
Police have not revealed details about whether anyone was arrested following the incidents.
Hare coursing is an illegal sport that involves the hunting of hares with greyhounds.
