POLICE officers discovered a cache of knives and drugs syringes in a park opposite Oxford’s Westgate Centre.
PCSO Fiona Heaver, based at St Aldate’s, was carrying out a routine patrol in the park known ‘The Stones’ next to Paradise Square off Norfolk Street this morning when she spotted a knife in the bushes.
A team of officers led by Sgt Pete Neale conducted a search and recovered more dangerous items.
He said: “We want to ensure public safety and antisocial behaviour like this won’t be tolerated."

Sgt Neale added that the items, four knives, a screwdriver, five needles and bike parts, would be removed from the park and safely disposed of.
