AN OXFORDSHIRE village is set to run out of space to bury its dead in a matter of months.
Wheatley Parish Council has announced that St Mary's Church will have to stop accepting burials before the year is out.
Now the council has asked for villagers' ideas on what to do.
Writing in the village newsletter, chairman Doug Lamont said: "The decision facing the village is – do we provide and finance a new burial ground?"
Mr Lamont said that any council solution would involve buying of land and future maintenance paid for by Wheatley taxpayers.
He added: "The alternative is not to provide any provision and rely on existing facilities outside of Wheatley."
Residents are asked to email clerk@wheatleyparishcouncil.gov.uk by August 27 saying whether they want the council to fund new burial ground.
