ASIAN restaurant chain Itsu will be offering 600 free meals ahead of the grand opening of its new store at Oxford's Westgate Centre this week.
The restaurant will hold an opening ceremony on Thursday with the Lord Mayor of Oxford, Colin Cook cutting the ribbon at midday, after which the first 600 local businesses and residents will be invited to a free Itsu lunch.
The restaurant will then officially open on Friday, July 20.
It will be Itsu's second restaurant in Oxford with Cornmarket Street restaurant which opened in 2013.
Chain bosses said the decision to open the new store and expand locally follows the 'growing demand for healthy, varied grab-and-go meal options within the city'.
Store Manager at Itsu Carmen Rosa Moreno, said: “We’re really pleased to be open able to open a second store in the area and thankful for all the positive support the local residents, students and businesses have shown us.
"The new Itsu store will create 19 new jobs and together we’re excited to serve up a wide variety of delicious calorie considered dishes.”
