A man from Oxfordshire who died in a road crash in Rutland at the weekend has been identified by police.

Richard Scott, 43, from Boars Hill, near Oxford, died in the collision at 9.30am on Saturday.

Leicestershire Police, who are appealing for witnesses, said the crash occurred on the A6003 in Lyddington.

Mr Scott's silver Fiat coupe was involved in a crash with a blue Ford Escort and a white Mercedes van, which were travelling in the opposite direction.

Mr Scott was certified dead at the scene of the crash.

The three occupants of the Ford Escort were not injured, while the two occupants of the Mercedes van were treated for minor injuries, but did not need to go to hospital treatment.
