OUTSTANDING care and 'inspirational' teaching is being upheld at a nursery at the John Radcliffe Hospital.
The Co-operative Childcare John Radcliffe in Headington, which is based in the hospital's West Wing, has been rated 'outstanding' across the board by Ofsted.
It is the latest success in Oxford for the childcare chain, after The Co-operative Childcare Rose Hill was also rated outstanding earlier this month.
The nursery at the John Radcliffe had 131 children on its roll during the inspection in May, and had previously been rated 'good'.
Awarding its highest possible stamp of approval, Ofsted's latest report stated: "The manager monitors and evaluates the highly qualified staff team and outcomes for children exceptionally well.
"She role models excellence in teaching and shows an exemplary commitment to ongoing support for staff.
"The quality of teaching is inspirational and highly effective."
This month the nursery and pre-school was re-branded Little Pioneers.
Ofsted's report, released on Friday, said: "Outcomes for all children, including from vulnerable groups, are outstanding.
"Staff create a vibrant, exciting and stimulating learning environment.
"The quality of teaching is inspirational and highly effective."
