In his cycling column "On Yer Bike" (Oxford Mail, August 14), James Styring rightly criticises the cyclist who knocked over a woman in Cornmarket and broke her hip.
Styring says "As with all groups, a few idiots can wreck things for everyone".
But it's not just a few idiots who cycle illegally down Cornmarket or on the city's pavements - it's a huge number of them.
They are a serious danger to pedestrians, and the police should have clamped down on them ages ago.
James Styring suggests the council should consider re-admitting cyclists to Cornmarket, but if so many cyclists can't be trusted to ride safely at present, why should they be allowed to cycle in Cornmarket?
