Schools affected by last month's flooding will receive money from the Government to help clean up in time for the start of term.

More than 20 of Oxfordshire's schools were forced to close at the peak of the floods and 13 of those will get a share of a recovery grant of £111,628.

Carterton Community College and Gosford Hill School in Kidlington are the only secondary schools which are due to receive money.

Gosford Hill School headteacher David Jones said: "If we are going to see some funding to help replace carpets and help with redecorating that would be fantastic, but I've yet to hear anything about it."

Among the primary schools to be given a share of the money are: Bampton Primary School; Middle Barton Primary School; North Leigh Primary; Ducklington Primary School; and Tower Hill Primary School, in Witney.

Other schools which will be given funding for repairs and redecoration include: Cropredy Primary School; Bloxham Primary School; Larkmead Primary School in Abingdon; Northbourne Primary School in Didcot; and St James Primary in East Hanney.
