The Wood Farm estate in Oxford had a tradition for community events, as these pictures taken in 1964 show, writes Jean-Michel Lavest.
The picture shows the teams at the start of the pram race in Atkyns Road, cheered on by numerous residents and Jacko the Clown, from Bertram Mills Circus.
David Renshaw and Bobby Woodward, won the race, and David Wooton and Tony Fathers, came third.
Second place went to Bill Timms and Mick Shields.
The race was held to raise money for a community centre on the estate.
