AN office supplies company has undergone a double expansion in just a few weeks. Alan Aston, managing director of Aston & James Office Supplies, liked his new premises at the £4m Nimrod Development in Witney so much that he bought the unit next door.

Mr Aston said: "The two units are linked, and it made perfect sense, both as an investment, and for a warehouse extension, to buy Unit 2 as well. We didn't want to lose it to someone else."

The family-run company employs 18 staff, and has been growing year-on-year for the past five years. Mr Aston, 35, set it up when he was 19, but continued expansion meant he has made the move from Station Lane in the town.

The two units on the new estate cover more than 6,000 sq ft, and Mr Aston said the extra space would provide an excellent setting for the company's office furniture showroom.

The 39,000 sq ft, 16-unit scheme has been built by Abacus Developments. It was launched earlier this year by Witney MP and Tory leader David Cameron and is now 50 per cent full.

Another new tenant is signmaking family firm Sign Language, featured in last month's In Business, which has moved to Range Road from the Glenmore Business Centre.
