CELEBRITIES have thrown their weight behind a campaign to find a missing tortoise.
Toby, a Hermann's tortoise, disappeared from his home in Cassington, West Oxfordshire, on May 7.
Celebrities have now joined the search to find the shelled animal, who is in his 70s, including Neville Southall, former Wales goalkeeper, and ex-Blue Peter presenter Sarah Greene.
Former keeper Neville Southall is among those to retweet the campaign
Toby's owner, Rita Newport, is seriously concerned and wants residents to keep their eyes out.
Her daughter in law Rhiannon Davies said: "She is worried. Especially because he is elderly for a tortoise.
"We are all worried about him. He is microchipped so we are just praying that someone picks him up and has the good sense to take him to a vet.
"They are just so good at hiding."
A Twitter account, @EmmaSearchForD1, which helps owners find missing pets, has supported the efforts to find Toby and helped the appeal reach some celebrity backers.
