DECORATIVE seats in an East Oxford churchyard which were smashed up have been restored.
The three stone seats in the churchyard of SS Mary and John Church, in Cowley Road, formed part of a major regeneration project at the churchyard, and were vandalised in May.
The Rev Adam Romanis said it had cost between £2,000 and £3,000 to repair the seats as they had to engage the services of the artist who had initially constructed them, but added that it was covered by insurance.
He said: "It has been beautifully done so you would not know we had the problem, which I think is how you need to deal with this kind of vandalism."
