A CONVICTED drug dealer who went on the run from a detention centre, near Oxford, for a week is back in custody.

Heardley Leon Benjamin, 38, was one of Thames Valley Police's four most wanted escapees after he fled from Campsfield House near Kidlington on Saturday, August 4.

Police released his photograph along with three other escapees last week and officers conducted a nationwide search.

The Jamaican, who had served four years in jail and was at the detention centre awaiting deportation, handed himself over to staff at Campsfield House in the early hours of Sunday.

There were 26 detainees who escaped the centre and ten of them remain on the loose.

The three other most wanted escapees are O'Neil Anthony Wilson, 29, from Jamaica, who served five years for drugs offences, Iraqi Ali Sabir Jabar, 28, who spent three years and nine months in jail for robbery and Cuong Hung Doan, 26, from Vietnam who was jailed for three years for growing cannabis.

Anyone who has spotted the men should call Operation Command Centre at the Border and Immigration Agency on 0161 261 1100 or anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
