Burglars snatched a handbag from a house in Abingdon then fled when they were spotted by an elderly woman.
Police are appealing for information after two men and a woman were seen fleeing from the house in Blacknell Road then escaping in a Volkswagen Polo on Tuesday, August 7.
Police only made the public appeal for information today.
At about 4.30pm a woman broke into the house grabbing a handbag and fled when she was disturbed by the elderly resident who is in her 70s.
At the same time a man and woman were see running from Blacknall Road into Saxton Road and got into a dark blue or black Volkswagen Polo which drove off in the direction of Drayton Road.
The burglar is described as white with shoulder-length, dark hair wearing a cream and brown checked cardigan.
Dc Rob Underhill said: "These criminals appear to have specifically targeted an elderly resident with the knowledge that she was in the house by herself at the time of the offence.
"I would ask if anyone has any information about this offence that they contact the police as soon as possible."
Anyone with information should contact Dc Underhill via 0845 8 505 505 or anonymously on 0800 555 111.
